Our Policies

Breeder of Merit. I do not ship puppies, so please do not ask. I like to meet all interested owners personally, as I take the placement of my Bichon pups very seriously. You are welcome to CONTACT ME (link to contact page) to schedule a visit. As a responsible breeder, my bichons are bred for health and temperament. All adults in the breeding program are health screened for hips, eyes, and patellas. Legend has a limited number of litters per year and due to this, there may be a wait to obtain a puppy. The puppies are raised in a loving home environment, not a kennel. During the first three weeks, they are secluded with the mother while she takes good care of them. As time goes on and puppies begin to develop mentally they are exposed to more of the world around them. Remember, the world is brand new in the eyes of a puppy. Our puppy play yard exposes them to new textures (grass, rock, concrete) and later is expanded to include a running area, stairs, and a tunnel. All of this interaction helps to build confidence. I produce both pet and show puppies. All are raised the same way and have the same pedigree. Legend puppies have done well in the show ring, are loving companions, and are active in the community as therapy dogs.

Bichons are adaptable companions who get on well with other dogs and children. Alert and curious, Bichons make nice little watchdogs—but they are lovers, not fighters, and operate under the assumption that there are no strangers, just friends they haven’t met yet. Their confidence and size make them ideal city dogs. Bichons train nicely and enjoy performing for their loved ones. Finally, there’s the happy-go-lucky Bichon personality that draws smiles and hugs wherever they go....
